The I-STORMS Final Conference, organised by the Regional Union of Municipalities of Epirus, will take place on the 27th of November 2019, in Piraeus and it will be followed by the the Project’s 3rd Transnational Network Conference and Project Meeting, on the 28th of November 2019, in Athens.
The venue for the Final Conference is the Piraeus Theoxenia Hotel, while for the 3rd Transnational Network Conference and Project Meeting, it is the Athens Coco-mat BC Hotel.
During the Project’s Final Conference, the I-STORMS results and next challenges will be presented, as well as its main tools such as the Common Data Sharing Web GIS Tool (IWS), the I-STORMS Strategy for sea storm early warning and the Project’s Video. Furthermore, Institutions directly involved in the management of sea storms will also give presentations such as the Italian Civil Protection, the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research and the National Observatory of Athens.
The Conference will have a broader EU context, through the participation of Dr. Philipp Schwartz from the Interact Programme, who will highlight the added value of maritime Interreg cooperation.
The Final Conference will be concluded with a site visit at the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research, Institute of Oceanography and a tour on the “Poseidon” System: Monitoring, Forecasting and Information System for the Greek Seas.
On the following day, the 3rd Transnational Network Conference and Project Meeting will take place, where among others, the Status of Permanent Cooperation Table and the Network Proceedings will be discussed.
