On the 12th -14th of June 2019, the project partners met in Bari on the occasion of the 4th Project and Steering Committee Meeting of the I-STORMS project, hosted by the Department of Civil Protection, of Apulia Region (PP5).
Representatives from all partners discussed the implementation status of all Work Packages, while Work Package leaders presented the state of the art and related pending issues.
Specifically, Slovenian Environment Agency, PP4, provided an overview of main achievements and remaining issues to be developed as regards the I-STORMS Network.
CNR ISMAR, PP2, presented the application of the IWS to the sea storm of 29 October 2018 and also the online version of the IWS platform, demonstrating to the partners some of the tools and functionalities of the platform, as well as how to feed it with PPs data.
PP3, ARPA Emilia Romagna, presented a proposal for the outline of the Guidelines and a timeline with the steps for the development of the final version of the deliverable, scheduled for September 2019.
The issue of communicating forecast uncertainty in an operative context, as well as methodologies for defining the forecast uncertainty and reliability were presented by the LP, the City of Venice.
Furthermore, an external evaluator, appointed by the LP introduced the framework and methodology of the project evaluation.
The status of current expenditures level of the project was shared by the LP, while the 4th Steering Committee approved the next deadlines for the project’s important achievements.
The next partner’s gathering will be organised within the context of the I-STORMS 2nd Transnational Network Conference, in the Region of Emilia Romagna, on the 20-21 September 2019.
