The I-STORMS partnership gathered for its 3rd Steering Committee and Project Meeting in Durres on the 05-06 of February 2019.
The agenda covered the progress made since the 2nd meeting in Ljubljana and the current status of the key active tasks. The schedule allowed for informative presentations, interactive workshops as well as bilateral discussions between partners.
The plenary successfully brought the entire consortium up to date with the status of the project, the main developments over the last few months, while the plan for the next milestones and meetings was also outlined.
WPT1 state of the art and pending issues were presented by PP4, the Slovenian Environment Agency. CNR-ISMAR (PP2) introduced a first online version of the IWS platform, as well as the tools and functionality of the platform, during the WPT2 Workshop on the design and implementation of the IWS. The progress of the work on the definition of guidelines on early warning procedures was described during the WPT3 workshop by PP3, the Agency for environmental protection and energy in Emilia-Romagna. The communication, dissemination and exploitation efforts designed to ensure impact were presented by PP7, the Regional Union of Municipalities of Epirus. Financial and project management issues were brought to light by the LP, the City of Venice. In addition, a site visit took place in the Porto Romano.
Thanks to PP6, the Regional Council of Durres, the meeting was excellently organised, it ran smoothly and all partners were pleased with their stay in the Albanian leading port city.
The close collaboration between partners will continue on line until the next face-to-face meeting in Apulia in June 2019.
